The event was originally known as Band Aid for Burn Victims. Last year, with an emphasis of hope and positive outlook, the name was changed to Band Aid for Burn Survivors. Band Aid for Burn Survivors is a long-running priority project of the Winston-Salem Jaycees, in support of the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill, NC. This year marks our 15th annual benefit concert to raise funds for the NC Jaycee Burn Center.
Each year, we bring together some of the best and brightest of Winston-Salem’s creative talent from a variety of musical genres to donate their time and energy to putting on a successful benefit concert. This year, we are ready to take the event to the next level. It will be our biggest event yet as we are generously hosted by Southern Smoke Eatery & Taevrn. This year’s lineup features several local bands.
In addition to the hundreds of people planned to be in attendance, we will have past and present Jaycees at the local, state and national level, with further invitations being extended to our network of leaders in business and politics, hospital staff at the Burn Center, and burn survivors themselves.
Historically, the event has annually been covered by local media in print (newspaper and magazines), radio and television – and this year, we are also extending this to the local podcasting community. We also plan to have photographers and a videographer present to record the evening. All that said, we hope you’re able to join us to benefit this remarkable center. See you there!
